GROUP DISCUSSIONS AND PERSONAL INTERVIEWS

The written exams for the MBAs are over.and now its time for the real thing.the GROUP DISCUSSIONS AND PERSONAL INTERVIEWS, or GD-PI as it is called.
though i am still in the 'expecting calls' stage, i have started going for the classes.just in case!very optimistic, you might say?well then, who doesnt dream???

apart from the usual fare, a few incidents have happened in these classes, which i am sharing now...enjoy!

At a mock interview at IMS:
Q: your biggest weakness?
A: the guy says girls.

Q: then, what is your biggest strength?
A: he says, that my biggest strength is, my being a guy.

He is thrown out of the room after these two ans.

At a meet the faculty session at CL :

faculty from a reputed pune MBA institute had come to CL for a interactive session with the candidates.
my friend asks hows the 'night life' outside the campus?
the faculty answers, "by the level of the ques you are asking, it seems u will find yourself only outside the campus. u wont find admission inside the campus".

At Time's MBA classes in south campus:

these happened in my class.
the topic of discussion was
"The only punishment for rape is death by hanging".

the teacher starts by saying that as it is not mentioned, we can stretch the topic and incl. in the discussion things like rape of democracy, rape of freedom ect.
one over-enthusiastic guy stands up and says, sir as the gender is not mentioned can we incl. rape of men.

now, half the class is laughing.
one of the two giggling girls behind me says in all seriousness,
"but how in the world, can we pin down a guy".
now the whole class is laughing.

A guy asks what should we do if we know v.little about a topic? The teacher says that there are content generation techniques which can be used. The guy says that, even after using them, if we cant generate points, then will it do if after every point made by other people, we just say "good point! good point!".
Instantaneous eruption of laughter results.

the following happened in college when a company was selecting ppl for the summer training prog. could not get the logic though. an electronics comp selecting only through a GD.
THE TOPIC WAS "LOVE MARRIAGE vs. ARRANGED MARRIAGE"

One of my friends is making a point...he wants to says 'the girl which I want to marry should be this and that..'. But what he actually says is "the 'guy' I want to marry should be..." Before he realizes his mistake, all the students incl. the company people are laughing. Was it just a slip of tongue or truth actually coming out!!! We will never know the facts!

Another incident happened during the same GD. another good friend of mine is speaking in favor of arranged marriages. He says that, as he has go to college everyday and study every evening, he has no time for love marriages, hence he favors arranged marriages. Sound logic. But the result is same. The whole room is laughing.

As for me...well...as this was my first GD, I was one of the 2-3 guys who maintained a 'calm and studious' silence, throughout the GD.I guess there are no points for that.;-)
